THIN MINTS is the story of a troop of girl scouts who go to a secluded cabin for a week to have a very important election. The girls use terror, torture, and trauma to claw their way to the top, but who is really pulling the strings?
THIN MINTS is based on the Shakespeare five-act history structure. Looking back on it, it is also a reflection of the absurdity of the 2016 election.
THIN MINTS also scores 100/100 on the Bechdel test. There is not a single mention of a man; no brothers, fathers, lovers, etc. Ellen felt she needed to go one step further, and remove romance all together. Who are women when they aren't in love? What she was left with is a story about greed, power, addiction, torture, and ruthlessness.
THIN MINTS was workshopped at Columbia University.
