if a groupie falls in the woods, and there's not a band around to hear her; does she still make a noise?
Blackbirds is the story of two girls in London in the 1960's. They follow a struggling rock band around the country in order to escape dark and dangerous pasts. Blackbirds is a show that takes place in between the limo and the afterparty. It's a show about the liminal space that only the temporary occupy.
It's about a struggling feminist movement, a burgeoning sexual freedom, and the women that get written out of history.
CONSIDER THE LOBSTER
Am I a good person? Deep down, do I even really want to be a good person, or do I only want to seem like a good person so that people (including myself) will approve of me? Is there a difference?
Consider The Lobster is an adaptation of the book of essays by the same name written by David Foster Wallace.
The pilot script is based off of the essay, "Up, Simba" which was written while on the John McCain campaign trail.
David Foster Wallace was a journalist. However, unlike other "pencils", his writing is always part love letter, part suicide note.
In every episode, the actor who plays DFW will step into the shoes of the people he is examining, taking on their personas and experiencing life through their eyes.
This show is about a person who is disgusted by the world around them, while simultaneously obsessed with trying to understand it.
